The Game and Snoop Dogg Host Gang Summit in Los Angeles

The Game and Snoop Dogg are making a laudable effort in organizing the Los Angeles people in a positive way. In their latest show of strength today (July 17), Snoop and Chuck hosed a gang summit in L.A. in association with the Nation of Islam.

Game announced the event via a post on his Instagram page (above), inviting all, "CRIPS, BLOODS, ESE's & all other gang members, major figures & GANG LEADERS from every hood in our city as well as the surrounding cities."

The objective of the sit-down was to "have the much needed conversation amongst ourselves about our influence on the youth in our respective neighborhoods & how we can serve as better role models to them & the brothers we stand beside daily," according to the Compton rapper.

Game also preached accountability as a major reason for the gathering. "The sad truth that no one wants to face is, before we can get OUR LIVES TO MATTER to anyone else," he wrote. "We have to show that OUR LIVES MATTER to US !!!! WE have been responsible for more of the KILLING of ourselves than anyone else by a long shot & the percentages in which BLACK on BLACK, BLACK on BROWN, BROWN on BLACK, BROWN on BROWN murders are so fucking high verses any other killing of us that it is disgusting & this needs to be addressed & laid to rest !!!!! Don't think we can't change it & better ourselves, lead by example & make our city a safer place for our children.... Because together, WE CAN !!!!"

Game and Snoop are showing and proving their intent to try to end violence on the streets of South Los Angeles. The rappers had an Operation H.U.N.T. peace rally earlier this month in response to the spate of killings by cops which included the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Along with a group of citizens, they marched to the LAPD headquarters and held a press conference with L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti and LAPD Police Chief Charlie Beck.

Earlier this week Game also attended a private meeting with other celebrities to discuss race relations.
