Dave East is giving fans a little preview of his Kairi Chanel mixtape. The 2016 XXL Freshman went on Instagram yesterday (June 15) to post a snippet of a track off the upcoming project which is due out on July 22. As you can hear in above video, the song features the same sample as Raekwon's classic single "Ice Cream." Dave East even plays off that with some similar lyrics.

The snippet's arrival comes in the midst of an incredible time for Dave East as he was just named to this year's XXL Freshman class. The Harlem rapper shares the honor with Anderson .Paak, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Dick, Denzel Curry, Desiigner, G Herbo and Lil Yachty. The official 2016 XXL Freshman issue will hit stands on June 28 with the first Freshman show scheduled to take place that same night at the PlayStation Theater in New York City.

Dave East has been very busy of late too as the Mass Appeal Records artist has been involved in some major collaborations over the past couple of days. Earlier this week, East linked up with D.C. rapper Fat Trel on the new single "All My Life."

That was just the beginning for the Harlem native as he also paired up with BJ the Chicago Kid for "Hold Me Down." This song was part of the newly launched Compound Gold Project presented by Magnum Condoms. The music series will see other notable names like Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss, Joey Badass and Jim Jones collaborating for records under the Compound Gold Project banner.
