Update:

DNA Info reports that one of the guns found in Troy Ave's van after being searched by NYPD matches the bullet that killed his bodyguard Banga. This seems to contradict the below report that an additional shooter besides Troy Ave is being sought in connection with the incident.

XXL reached out to the NYPD 13th Precinct, who told us that the NYPD have not given out any information about ballistics test results. This contradicts DNA Info's report and shows the latest example of mainstream media outlets running around like chickens with their heads cut off as they try to report the "facts."

Original Story:

Details are still murky about what happened at Irving Plaza last week when Troy Ave was caught on camera busting his gun, but according to PIX11 authorities are now looking for a second shooter who they say was also involved.

While initial reports said Troy suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, investigators now believe it was someone else who not only shot the Brooklyn rapper, but also killed his bodyguard Banga.

Sources tell PIX11 that "someone who has an on-going dispute with Collins allegedly approached the rapper and another person at the venue and a fight ensued." They go on to say that a scuffle ensued, and during the fight Troy and the guy who approached him "wrestled for the gun and that’s when another, separate shot went off in a different part of the venue."

In addition, PIX11 reports that footage of Banga, real name Ronald McPhatter, "slumped over with a fatal wound to his abdomen," has surfaced but apparently isn't yet available to the public.

XXL reached out to the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner, Public Information, who said they have no knowledge of a second suspect.

Just yesterday, Troy Ave was seen getting wheeled into court in a wheelchair to face official charges of attempted murder and criminal possession of a firearm. He was remanded without bail until his court date next Thursday, June 9.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, Meek Mill showed his support for Troy Ave, saying certain people want to see the BK rapper taken down. "Never let these "bum ass nobody "sucka" crab in the barrel dudes pull you down!" wrote Meek. "Most of the time it's all for attention.... that's all these bustas be wanting forreal!"

Details are still coming in, so we'll update this post as we learn more.
