Joe Budden Pleads Guilty to Disorderly Conduct

Joe Budden pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, a violation, on Thursday (March 3) in Manhattan Criminal Court. The New Jersey rapper was spared jail time or probation, instead ordered to lead a "law-abiding life in exchange" according to the New York Daily News.

The MC seemed to be in good spirits before appearing in front of the judge as he told photographers to "Get my good good side. At least they can do is take a good picture," according to the New York Post's "Page Six."

The All Love Lost rapper's legal woes stemmed from from an Aug. 2014 incident where Budden allegedly choked his ex-griflriend, pushed her head and stole her cell phone. A warrant was issued by the NYPD and Budden turned himself in, but not before mocking the police on Twitter and on the news. The MC then tweeted from behind bars before his mother posted his $10,000 bail.

In Dec. 2014, Budden showed up two hours late to a hearing related to the case and blamed traffic for the tardiness. "Traffic sucks in New York--print that," the Jersey native told the Daily News on the way out of the court house. In May 2015, a bench warrant was issued after he failed to appear before a judge.

Now that the saga is over and Budden is cleared of all charges, the rapper took to Twitter, as he often does, to announce end of the case. "After one year and seven months, all domestic violence/grand larceny charges against me are dismissed. God is good."

Budden's lawyer, Nima Ameri, described the disorderly conduct plea as "akin to standing in the middle of traffic...or making an unreasonable noise in public."

"Joe's version of events were supported and substantiated based on relevant evidence that prosecutors looked into," the lawyer continued. "Both Joe and myself are very happy we were able to secure this outcome."

The judge also hit the "Pump It Up" rapper with an order of protection that bars him from contacting the woman and a $75 dollar fine for an unlicensed driving infraction unrelated to the case.
