Tyler the Creator has given fans a direct way to consume his unfiltered ideas with the creation of his Golf Media app. One of the features of the paid app is his own radio show, which is simply titled Golf Radio.

On the latest episode of Golf Radio, Tyler the Creator -- or should I say his alter ego DJ Stankdady -- interviewed Vince Staples. A clip of the interview was published for free on YouTube and sees the two discussing Tyler the Creator's single "Yonkers." Vince Staples brings up his memory of its creation and how the song started to blow up, which prompted Tyler to explain how it was created as a joke.

"Dude, n---as don't know that that beat was made as a joke," Tyler the Creator says. "I was trying to make a shitty New York beat and we was just rapping like we was from New York like we were retarded. And then, I just had some random verses and I was just like, 'I'll just record it to this beat, this beat is kinda cool.' And then n---as really liked it. That's so nuts, because that shit was actually a fucking joke. I made that beat in literally eight minutes."

It's an interesting revelation as "Yonkers" is still one of Tyler the Creator's biggest records to date. The single, which appeared on Tyler's debut album Goblin, would become a certified Gold record. It also peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Bubbling Under the Hot 100 Songs chart and No. 9 on the Heatseekers Songs chart. Update (2/18, 12:03): Listen to the full interview below.
