The last time French Montana dropped a solo record was May of 2015, but Diddy just announced French is dropping a new mixtape this Friday hosted by Max B. You can hear the intro above.

According to Diddy, French is dropping his new Wave Gods tape on DJ Khaled's "We The Best" Beats 1 radio show. Max will imaginably be doing drops from prison, just like he did for Kanye's album, but Max and French are probably sitting on so much unreleased music, there might be some new collabs from them on the tape.

French has been pretty quiet since he dropped that Coke Zoo mixtape with Fetty Wap last October. He stepped out for the Grammys last night and told reporters he's still "friends" with his ex Khloe Kardashian.

This is the first time in awhile we're seeing French push something that has to do with Max. Charlamagne even had to ask Max if he was still good with French during their phone interview on The Breakfast Club weeks back.

The mixtape comes in the wake of Kanye West catching heat from Wiz Khalifa for naming his album Waves without paying homage to Max B. Many in hip-hop weren't sure if Kanye was even referencing Max but nonetheless took joy in the fact that the Harlem rapper was getting so much shine. Speaking to the Breakfast Club, Max said he appreciated Kanye's gesture and didn't think it was biting.

“Everybody know I’m an innovator," said Max. "I come up with these words and these slogans and these catchphrases. It’s all good when the people follow suit. I like Kanye.”

Khaled's "We The Best" show air on 8 PM EST this Friday.
