BJ The Chicago Kid is gearing up for the release of his debut album In My Mind, but the singer wanted to pay tribute to one of his predecessors before that LP arrives. BJ The Chicago Kid honors the one and only D'Angelo with a new EP of covers. The project specifically celebrates the 16th anniversary of D'Angelo's classic single "Untitled (How Does It Feel)."

"His musicality is beyond this world," BJ The Chicago Kid said of D'Angelo via a press release. "I had to celebrate his genius by paying homage to his legacy while he continues to kill the game and make great music. It's a new year and there's no better way to start it off than taking it back to where it all began for me. This is real soul/R&B."

The three track EP obviously features a cover of "Untitled (How Does It Feel)," but also includes BJ The Chicago Kid's renditions of D'Angelo's "She's Always In My Hair" and "Send It On." Production on all three songs is handled by Jairus "JMO" Mozee.

This EP is a treat for any BJ The Chicago Kid fan and a fascinating take on some of D'Angelo's best known tracks. It's also a nice way to tide listeners over as they wait for the arrival of BJ's debut In My Mind, which is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2016.
