It's December, which means publications and individual critics are rolling out their best-of-2015 lists. As expected, Kendrick Lamar's blockbuster sophomore album, To Pimp a Butterfly sits at or near the top of nearly all of them. Brimming with musical input from the likes of Terrace Martin, Flying Lotus and Thundercat, the LP is a sprawling meditation on Kendrick's experience as a Black man--perhaps more specifically, a Black male celebrity--in America. To wit: "Alright," the Pharrell-produced anthem of perseverance, has become a de facto rallying cry in the middle of police brutality protests. (It also benefits from one of the year's best videos.) And now, it looks as if a live rendition of that very song will help kick off the new year in the right way.

Today (Dec. 3), Austin City Limits released a video of Kendrick playing "Alright," just after leading the crowd in a chant of the song's chorus. As the Compton rapper has said before, this could be one of the final times he plays songs from Butterfly live. The full concert can be seen in the long-running concert series' Jan. 9 episode, as the second of 2016.
