A$AP Ferg sat down with Hot 97's Nessa recently to talk about his new album Always Strive and Prosper and its lead single "New Levels" featuring Future. The two touched on a number of subjects including this past year's beef between Drake and Meek Mill. When Nessa asked Ferg why he thinks people are more scared of competition now than in previous years, the Trap Lord let the truth ring out.

"I think the internet makes people more pussy," Ferg said. "Nobody wants to compete against each other. I think nobody wants to have interactions anymore. Guys don't even walk up to girls no more. They see them in the street and be like 'Damn I have to find her Instagram or I have to get her snapchat.'"

"And it's the same thing with battling," he continued. "I feel like we're lacking when it comes to that."

Ferg was extremely forthright with details of his upcoming album, but failed to provided a release date, saying only that it will drop "very, very soon. I promise that." Features on Always Strive and Prosper include Missy Elliott, ScHoolboy Q, Chris Brown. Ty Dolla $ign, Skrillex and more. "Right now what I'm trying is really putting 100% into my art," Ferg said, calling it the best art he's created thus far. "People are putting out so much sub par work and it's draining."

Ferg also spoke on the passing of A$AP Yams, his love life, and working with Madonna. He repeatedly referred to Always Strive and Prosper as his "rags to riches" story, saying that the album contains specific moments from his life before and after fame.
