We are now less than a week from getting a new project from the sultry, eclectic Ms. Erykah Badu. She has been teasing the mixtape But You Caint Use My Phone for the last couple of weeks, first saying it would drop in early November only to recently reveal a Thanksgiving due date. Badu recently stopped by The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon to perform her latest single "Phone Down." Backed by The Roots and rocking one of her over-the-top get ups, the Texas native runs through her latest funky groove.

The upcoming mixtape will be her first release since 2010's New Amerykah Part Two. “I’m in love with this mixtape, it feels good,” said Badu. “I think it’s a whole new frequency for the planet and I just wanted to do it because it’s inspiring me to write my new album—it’s kind of like the buffer in between. I would like to describe it as a creative process and I got some really good surprises for you guys. I cannot wait until the end of the month, it will be on iTunes at the end of the month. But along the way, I’m going to drop some freebies and some underground shit just so the people can have something to listen to.”

In addition to her upcoming album, Badu will be hosting the upcoming Soul Train Music Awards which airs on Nov. 29.
