Wiz Khalifa
helped the students at his former high school start off the school year on the right foot. The Pittsburgh rapper recently traveled back to his alma mater and blessed the student body with backpacks. In all, Wizzle gave out 1,700 back packs worth $45,000.

“It feels awesome to be back at Allderdice,” Khalifa told Pittsburgh News 4. “I love my school. I love Pittsburgh. I love being able to spread some positivity and give kids some hope.”

Wiz attended the school in the early 2000s. Coming back to show love over a decade later was a big deal. "It's huge," Principal Melissa Freiz said. “It means he hasn’t forgotten where he’s come from."

Wiz hopes his presence is an inspiration. "I just wanted to tell them to be themselves," he said. "Let them know they're doing the right thing with their lives right now by going to school and dreaming big and just trying to figure it all out."

Wiz is no stranger to repping for his old stomping ground. In 2012 he released the mixtape, Taylor Allderdice which featured Chevy Woods, Rick Ross, Smoke DZA, Juicy J, Lola Monroe and Amber Rose.

Wiz dropped his most recent album Blacc Hollywood, which was spearheaded by the hit single "We Dem Boyz," last October. He is currently prepping the release of his new LP Rolling Papers 2: The Weed Album which is slated to drop in October.
