Jay Rock released a mini documentary in support of his forthcoming LP, 90059, which is reportedly dropping tonight (Sept 10) at 9 p.m. During the four-plus minute video fans get to watch the Top Dawg Entertainment MC on his press run and in the studio while taking a look at Rock’s neighborhood.

Here’s what we learned:

1. Jay Rock's Hometown Is Very Important To Him

The video shows pretty clearly that Watts, the neighborhood Rock grew up in and the inspiration behind the album title (90059 is the zip code of Watts, Los Angeles, Calif.), is very dear to he Follow Me Home rapper. He says in the video, "That’s what Watts stand for, it taught me how to survive it taught me how to be a man." Also fans get to see the Watts tattoo on his forearms.

2. Jay Rock Has A Ton Of Unreleased Material

During the clip, Jay Rock states that he has four to five album worth of material. This make sense since 90059, his sophomore album, was released four years after his debut LP Follow Me Home.

3. Jay Rock Seems Very Happy

The energy Jay Rock exuberates throughout the video is infectious. While on his press run and throughout the video, you can see his happiness that he's finally release his long awaited new album. The scenes in the studio with Ab-Soul are particularly telling. He just can't stop smiling.

4. TDE Members Stressed To Jay Rock The Importance Of Hooks

Known for his rough and rugged style, Jay Rock says that his fellow TDE members told him to make sure the hook is on point. "I remember the big homies use to be like, 'man you got to make sure that hook right before you put out a record'," he said. He also states that for this album he found a new sound on this LP.
