2004: Coming up as a part of 50 Cent's G-Unit crew in 2003, Young Buck gave a strong performance on the group's debut album, Beg for Mercy, but still wanted to prove he could hold his own as an MC. Giving a nod N.W.A's debut album, Straight Outta Compton, and shouting out to his hometown of Nashville, Buck decided to name his debut project Straight Outta Cashville. He dropped his album on Aug. 24, 2004.

Taking a year to record and featuring executive production from 50 Cent and Sha Money XL, Cashville spawned radio hits like "Let Me In" featuring 50 Cent, “Shorty Wanna Ride," and “Stomp” featuring The Game. And because the Tennessee rapper shone in the crew, listeners of Buck proved their fandom by making the LP debut at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Cashville sold 361,000 copies in its first week and went on to be certified platinum by RIAA.

Since 2004, Buck has dropped five other solo albums, broken up and gotten back together with the Unit and is releasing new material on a regular basis.
