Flooded in purple stage light and the smell of Coors Banquet, Baby's All Right in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is one of the go-to spots for unbothered creatives. A venue that remixes Fetty Wap with Michael Jackson, Baby's set a fitting stage for L.A. collective OverDoz. to make their debut last night (Aug. 17).

Preceded by local acts Quincy Vidal and Black Dave, the antsy crowd, a mix of teenagers, Tumblr girls and hip-hop tastemakers, seemed to grow restless by the time Joon, Kent Jamz, P and Cream began their set around 10:30 pm. But once fans heard Kent rap the beginning to "Desto's Don't Stress Hoes" a capella from somewhere offstage, the energy of the room did a 180.

Jumping back and forth from their 2011 mixtape, Live For Die For, to their 2013 tape, BOOM, the guys ran through vibe-amplifying joints including "Don't Wanna Be Your Girlfriend," "Pasadena," "Fuck Yo' DJ" and "Hiroshima" and had the front rows singing along with ease. By the time they got to "Lauren London," one of their best-known singles to date, everyone was on their wave.

Joon changed outfits with every new song, starting off in a furry grey suit, then an orange dashiki before settling on a jersey for the remainder of the night. Kent Jamz, P and Cream stuck to their attire, a bulletproof vest, a orange T and Bape hat and a Lincoln jersey respectively.

And of course, with their debut album, 2008, on the way, the guys thought it fitting to preview their sound with the people that love them.

"Y'all heard we had an album coming?," asked Kent midway through the show. "So, for the rest of the night, we only gonna do 2008."

"I'm surprised. DC was turnt up. It was good, but yeah, this was lit," a tired Kent said after the show—the type of sonic satisfaction you can only get from a high energy show. Check out snippets of the show above and be on the lookout for OverDoz.'s debut album, 2008, dropping this fall.
