With Fetty Wap barreling head-on into the pop culture landscape--and with his debut album finally on the horizon--the one-eyed wonder finds himself with a bigger platform than most people could ever hope to occupy. So he's decided to give back: Later this month, on August 27, the "My Way" star will play a free show in his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey. The concert will take place at Bauerle Field, located between School 15 and Eastside High School and will run from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Paterson Public School Board will be handing out 1,200 free tickets at Pennington Park starting Monday, Aug. 24. Those spots will be doled out on a first come, first serve basis, so don't say XXL didn't warn you.

Where some rappers with a hit single (or three) might themselves remain relatively anonymous, Fetty has made a concerted effort to get his face on as many television screens as possible. At a recent Seattle show, Taylor Swift invited him out to share the stage and play "Trap Queen" to her massive crowd. (Fetty later said that Swift gave him some sage career advice, but that he passed on getting the 1989 star's phone number because she said she had a boyfriend.) As for the wide world of sports, beat writers for the Kansas City Royals were flummoxed as to why players were sneaking the numbers 17 and 38 into their responses to interview questions. After the lid was blown off the Fetty Wap love, the team invited him to join them on the field and to take batting practice.
