Someone has started a petition to have legendary DJ Funkmaster Flex removed from Hot 97.

There has always been word that DJ Funkmaster Flex was not someone who was willing to give up his position at Hot 97 for his slot. Despite constant critiques from everywhere for the old man to step down, and give the younger people a shot he decided to stay where he was. Last year Dame Dash was at the forefront of the movement saying that Funk Flex really needs to just leave. Well, today was the last straw. This fraud of a DJ decided to lie to everyone for ratings and downloads of the Hot 97 app that Meek Mill would be on tonight to release a diss track to Drake to no avail. No one has given Hot 97 two hours of listening time since Biggie was alive, and it's a crime to have taken that from us. The people have spoken and it is time for Funk Flex to step down.

A disgruntled fan created the petition after Funkmaster Flex failed to produce a Meek Mill diss track on his show last night (July 27) despite hyping up the certainty all day. The Funkmaster made it his business to step into the Meek Mill and Drake drama, dropping a supposed reference track for Drake's "10 Bands" after Meek called the Toronto native out for using ghostwriters. Flex also claimed to have more reference tracks in his catalog. Drake remained quiet for the most past the last week, but he responded during OVO Sound's second radio show with Beats 1, dropping a Meek diss he called "Charged Up." The diss track was laced with subs aimed at the Dreams Worth More Than Money rapper. Funk Flex promised to drop the MMG rapper's response yesterday at 7 p.m. and fans took him at his word, ultimately waiting with their ears glued to the radio for hours, but no track ever came. Rather than drop the highly-anticipated response—which, to his credit, he had never publicly promised—Meek tweeted a random track with him screaming instead, further trolling the fans who stuck around all night.

As of press time, the petition to remove Flex from radio has 6,837 signatures and the number is growing rapidly. Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club aired flex out during their "Donkey of the Day" segment, calling him "Pumpfaker Flex." The shade that Charlamagne Tha God throws is real. Take a listen below.

Twitter went off on Funkmaster Flex, throwing many shots at him online. Check out a few below.
