The Pan An Games came to a close this past weekend and Kanye West headlined the closing ceremony on Sunday (July 26). 'Ye only performed for 13 minutes, however, before tossing his mic at the end of his set and storming off stage. Attendees were left rather confused, unsure if Kanye had a diva moment or if his set was really only supposed to last 13 minutes. Thankfully, the show continued smoothly, with a show of fireworks sending ceremony attendees home. Kanye's mic drop was later explained as an audio technical difficulty. We were left to assume that 'Ye got annoyed at the sound problem, which led him to toss his mic and exit stage left.

Pan Am has released a statement on the incident and clarify the confusion surrounding Yeezy's gangster moment.

"As this was a live broadcast, Kanye West was always scheduled to perform for 13 minutes," writes Neala Barton, SVP of Communications and Media Relations. "He fulfilled this commitment in great style and while there was technical difficulty at the end due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, he rolled with it the way great artists do. To imply that he abruptly cut short his performance or that he was anything less than professional is incorrect. We could not have been more thrilled."

Well, there you have it. Kanye West may be known for having either really emotional or really wild moments, but, according to Barton, his performance at the Pan Am closing ceremony wasn't one of them.
