Wiz Khalifa and Fall Out Boy Bring the Heat to New Jersey for ‘Boys of Zummer’ Tour

Wiz Khalifa and Fall Out Boy took their Boys of Zummer tour to Holmdel, N.J. last night (June 13). Performing for a packed house consisting mostly of a younger crowd, the Blacc Hollywood rapper and punk rock group had the place going wild. 

Before the night kicked off, DJ Drama kept the crowd bumping with some of the latest tracks, making the pre-show feel more like a day party. Around 8 p.m., Wiz K kicked off his set, beginning with an intro video that had Wiz written all over it. Khalifa and company enjoy their weed at his California crib before Wiz rides out in a classic whip and makes his appearance on stage for what would be a dope set.

"I'ma be the first one to tell you it's cool to be yourself. Keep doing you," the 27-year old rapper exclaimed to the crowd. He ran off stage but came back with a jay to perform "Paperbond," and "So High." All the while, trippy visuals were on display with recurring bursts of fire bouncing off the stage. "If you believe you can be anything you want to be, put your hands in the air. I believe in you too. Only thing that matters is you believe in yourself," said Wiz. After wacky dances moves he then performs "The Race," "Promises" and his party song "Work Hard Play Hard." Khalifa then disappeared into the crowd and showed up on the back stage to get crunk for "Taylor Gang." He reappeared front and center with another one rolled for a key-only intro to "Young Wild and Free." Wiz then performed "Out All Night," before making his exit. He couldn't end the night just yet however, reappearing to perform his No. 1 single, "See You Again."

After an amazing hour and a quarter set, things went to a new level. FOB would soon take the stage to deliver an amazing show of their own. Fittingly so, the band began with  "Sugar, We're Going Down," starting things off on a very high note. Like Wiz, Pete Wentz, Patrick Stump and Joe Trohman all wore black, while Andy Hurley showed off his tats. The group rocked on, delivering solid performances of "The Phoenix" and "Let's Be Alone Together." Things turned up a few notches with "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race."

During FOB's break, they also showed a video, where they played masked bandits. They reappeared on the back stage for an acoustic break, with the Patrick, Pete and Joe flexing their vocal ranges. Back on the main stage, Andy held things down on the drums, keeping the beat bumping in everyone's chests. Fan favorites would soon follow with the band's return for "Dance, "Dance," and "American Beauty/American Psycho." Pete hopped on the mic to encourage fans to never let the world inhibit their creativity before delivering "Centuries." Fans were taken on a visually appealing ride during the set, with colorful rays and additional blasts of fire heating things up. The crowd would start a Fall Out Boy chant during a quick break, after which the group would returned for "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)." They turned around for a group selfie with the audience before closing out with "Saturday." All in all, it was a pretty amazing night. Next up, the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Mass.
