Safaree Samuels Says Nicki Minaj Made Him Feel Like a Fool in Upcoming Track
If Shakespeare were alive today, perhaps he would write about the slings and arrows of a 24-hour news cycle. While the rest of the world has moved on to conjecture about if and when Nicki Minaj and Philadelphia battle veteran Meek Mill will get formally engaged (or if and when they'll break up), Minaj's ex, Safaree Samuels, is milking the clock. Samuels, with whom Minaj was in a 12-year-long relationship until last year, is an aspiring rapper and, though he denies the charge, has jumped at the heightened notoriety the breakup has afforded him. (In addition to dropping a host of new songs, Samuels also claimed he wrote Minaj's lyrics. He recanted that shortly thereafter.) Now, TMZ has obtained a new song that is said to drop this Friday (June 12). Called "Love the Most," the track is aimed directly at the Pinkprint superstar, whom Samuels implies was addicted to prescription pills. He alleges infidelity, complains that a scripted kiss with Nas was loaded with meaning and claims he was aware of his then-girlfriend's feelings for Meek Mill early on. You can listen to a one-minute snippet of "Love the Most" above.
One of the most famous rappers working today, Minaj dropped The Pinkprint, her third studio album, in December of last year. Preceded by four singles, including the massive "Anaconda," the album debuted at #2 on Billboard and has since been certified Gold by the RIAA. The Pinkprint features Meek Mill on "Buy a Heart" and on the bonus song "Big Daddy."
