For someone who seems so ubiquitous, Fetty Wap has no major television appearances to his name. That will change this Sunday (April 12), when the New Jersey upstart takes the stage at the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles. The "Trap Queen" star will perform from the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles (right across the street from Staples Center, where the struggling Lakers mirror Fetty's rise with their total collapse). He'll be joined by Fall Out Boy, because who else would you expect to ferry a young, experimental rapper into the American cultural landscape? Other performers on Sunday will be Ty Dolla $ign, Tinashe and Charli XCX. The show will be hosted by comedian Amy Schumer.

The performance won't be Fall Out Boy's only foray into the rap world this year; later in 2015, the band is going on tour with Wiz Khalifa in what is sure to be a smoke-filled series of outdoor summer concerts. As for Fetty, he has cause for celebration. "Trap Queen" has finally been certified gold, a testament to what you can do with a reimagination of the "ride or die girl: conceit and a single eye to guide you. The song's overwhelming success has earned him the support of such superstars as Kanye West and Rihanna.
