Yesterday (March 30) it was reported that The Game was involved in a heated verbal and physical altercation with another player at a Hollywood pro-am basketball game that took place last weekend. Today, TMZ has revealed video that shows what appears to be a punch thrown by Game, but also a troubling bit of new information: the man he seems to have struck may be an LAPD officer. According to the report, the still-unidentified man is a new officer, who reported to authorities that it was Game who made threats against his life before the punch was thrown. The Compton rapper's camp denies that, saying it was Game who was on the receiving end of said threats, and that the officer threatened or implied that he would retrieve a gun from his gym bag. The LAPD is investigating The Game for battery; the man who was assaulted is reportedly being investigated as well.

As for now The Game is suspended from the hoops league until cops and the D.A. decide his fate, TMZ reports.  Jester Black, director of the JBL Basketball League said he spoke to Game and told him "that as of now his team can participate, but he can't be on the court until the investigation is done."

The Game's new album, The Documentary 2is scheduled to be released some time this June. His last LP, Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf came out last fall and featured a litany of collaborators, including Too $hort, Tyga, Freddie Gibbs, Bobby Shmurda, Kevin Gates, Jeezy, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Soulja Boy, Yo Gotti, Ty Dolla $ign, French Montana and many more. It also sports a song by Skeme and Dubb, two artists Game himself has signed.
