Dr. Dre was on Big Boy's 92.3 and touched on a number of topics, including the upcoming N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton.

According to the business magnate, he was hesitant on making a movie about the legendary Compton rap group. Dre was concerned that making a film would tarnish N.W.A's legacy.

"I was just nervous about putting a blemish on our legacy," said Dre. The story had to be told right. And it's incredible, man. I'm really excited about it. We had our ups and downs with the filming process, but now the edit is almost done. We're working on music and what have you, and I think everybody's going to appreciate it, especially everybody from Los Angeles."

However, after chatting with Ice Cube and reading a script, Dre was sold. The legendary producer also revealed that they're currently working on the film's soundtrack but he isn't sure if he'll release the new music. "I'm working on something right now. I don't want to put it out there just yet and say that I'm definitely gonna put it out. But I'm really feeling what I'm working on right now. This would be a record that's inspired by the movie," he added.

Dre talks about how surreal it was to watch other people tell their story. It was particularly hard to watch actor Jason Mitchell play the late Eazy-E and have his story unfold. The Doctor shares that prior to Eazy's passing, the two had made amends and were actually talking about reuniting the crew and making new music.

"We wanted to be as authentic as possible," he said. "There's this actor, Jason Mitchell, he plays Eazy and he did an incredible job. I mean, there's a couple of times where I got a little emotional on set. When E's in the hospital and he finds out he has the disease and what have you, his acting was that great. Goosebumps."

Throughout the interview, the West Coast native also touches on how the rap group was formed, the crazy story behind recording "Nuthin' But a G Thang" with Snoop Dogg, and what it's like to work with Eminem. Check out the full-length interview below.
