Kanye West Says He Doesn’t Smile Because It’s Not Cool

We've already noted how catching Kanye West smile is about as rare as a new verse from Andre 3000. So, what's up with that? Is he upset with life? Does he want to get away from the music business? Does he just despise taking photos that much? Now we have an explanation. 'Ye was at The Daily Front Row's inaugural Fashion Los Angeles Awards, last night and actually revealed why he likes walking around with his smile turned upside-down. West was in the building to present an award to the Creative Director of Milk Studios, Mazdack Rassi. During his lengthy speech, the entertainer dropped his anti-smiling logic on the crowd.

"Back when I was working on Yeezus, I saw this book from the 1800s and it was velvet-covered with brass and everything," West said. "I looked at all these people's photos and they look so real and their outfits were incredible and they weren't smiling and people, you know the paparazzi, always come up to me, ‘Why you not smiling?' and I think, not smiling makes me smile...When you see paintings in an old castle, people are not smiling cause it just wouldn't look as cool."

So, there it is. Smiling isn't cool enough. One thing, the G.O.O.D. Music head should be cheesing about is the release of his new album which should be coming sooner than later. He has already released one single and previewed another.
