This is really, really happening. For those that thought the proposed cat-inspired album Meow The Jewels by Run The Jewels was just talk here's your proof that Killer Mike and El-P are actually scratching the surface on the Kickstarter funded project. RTJ member EL-P recently took to Instagram to show off some snippets of some instrumentals he has been putting together for the project. In a series of three videos, El gives us a glimpse of how the project will sound. "And so it begins. #MeowTheJewels," he captioned the first video in which he plays coordinated cat calls he put together for a beat for the album.

As previously reported, last September a RTJ fan made a Kickstarter hoping to raise money in order get Mike and P to make a version of their latest album made up of all cat noises. The album fund quickly made over $10,000 with contributions from the likes of Just Blaze and Alchemist. The duo later agreed to make the LP with all proceeds going to charity.

If you hate cats this might make you want to jump out of the nearest window. Otherwise the quirky blend of cat howls mixed with instrumentation is kind of dope.
