More now than ever rappers are finding it their duty to protest the injustices in America. Whether it's in light of the deaths of Black people at the hands of police—the deaths of Florida's Trayvon Martin, Baltimore's Freddie Gray, Baton Rouge's Alton Sterling, Minnepolis' Philando Castile and more has sparked nationwide protests—or because Donald Trump got elected president— over the past two years, rappers have been walking with the people and show no signs of slowing down.

Feeling more empowered than ever, everyone from OGs like Jay Z, Snoop Dogg and Q-Tip, to youngins like Chris Brown, J. Cole and Joey Bada$$ have stepped out in the global eye to fight for what they delve as unjust occurrences against Black men and citizens overall. 24 hours after Alton Sterling and Philando Castile were murdered, Snoop and The Game joined forces to organize a march on LAPD headquarters. T.I. also took the streets for a stand off on a highway in Atlanta as well as in NY when Donald Trump won the election. Ace Hood and his girl shut down Biscayne Blvd. in Miami and August Alsina traveled to Baton Rouge in solidarity with protesters in July. .

The movement is real and for these celebrities, it goes far deeper than rap. Check out which rappers have taken to the streets in protest above.
