You remember when Hov denounced Timbs on "Off That." Well apparently people are still rocking Timbs and it doesn't seem like anybody plans on stopping either. In an interview with GQ, RZA opened up about his adoration for Timberlands. He even went far enough to credit himself and his group The Wu-Tang Clan as the primary reasons for the boots meteoric rise in the 90's.

"In my opinion, the trend first started in the very late '80s to early '90s. I think one of the bands that really brought Timberland boots to the forefront was Wu-Tang Clan. In all of our early videos, whether it was Method Man, ODB, the RZA, the GZA, you see the Timberlands stomping," said RZA during his interview.

Even to this day, the rapper still dons a pair.

"I buy at least four pairs of black Timbs a year," the rapper said. "I probably got about 20 pairs of black Timberlands right now."

Do you guys think RZA and the WU started the trend? Be on the lookout for  their sixth album A Better Tomorrow
