The New York Times Messes Up, Uses Fake Kanye West Quotes
The New York Times has always branded itself as a newspaper that exemplified excellence and integrity. Despite being a heralded paper, they had to issue a correction in a recent story regarding Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. The columnist who wrote the post, Joyce Walder, made a critical mistake by using fake quotes from Kanye bragging about Kim’s backside, in addition to boasting about his own from The Daily Currant, a satirical website.
The Times published the story last Friday (Nov. 21). Here’s an excerpt of “Kanye” gloating about Kim and her massive booty from The Daily Currant:
“I don’t understand why everyone is focusing on Kim’s booty.” he said. “Obviously I love her ass. That’s why I married her. But nobody has an ass like mine. I have one of the top three asses of all time. My booty is like Michelangelo level, you feel me? It’s like a sculpture.”
In addition, the NYT story claimed that ‘Ye’s comments came from an interview he had with Chicago’s WGYN. The only problem is that Chicago’s WGYN doesn’t exist.
The Times issued a correction to Walder’s story, which was titled “Fear of Kim Kardashian’s Derriere,” read below.
