While Kanye West has proven to be a guaranteed hit-maker in music, in the eyes of many fashion aficionados, he has struck out on numerous occasions. 50 Cent chimed in on Ye's struggles in the fashion world with Fashionista. According to Fif, rappers and entertainers are considered outsiders in the fashion industry.

"[The high end fashion designers] have been passionate about [fashion] for a very long time and worked to get to where they are and are not so prone to just letting people come in and just turning into a big deal," 50 Cent said. “There are really talented people [already in the business] and it kind of irks them that the person who’s been receiving the opportunity—that they really want and have been working, preparing for it for a long time—just comes out of somewhere else."

Still, skeptics can't denounce West wholeheartedly. Kanye's partnership with Adidas has definitely helped elevate his stock. According to 50, it all has to do with finding your niche.

Fif spoke to us about hip-hop’s influence on the current state of fashion. Watch that video below.
