In light of Dr Dre's near billionaire status after selling Beats Electronics to Apple, SMS Audio is getting a lot of attention. And 50 Cent is ready for it.

While his newest album Animal Ambition may not have followed the diamond selling path of some of his previous work that doesn't mean that he's out here taking days off. He recently finished the first season of Power, his drama series for the Starz network. Now the focus is back on his audio company SMS Audio.

50 sat with Lee Hawkins of the Wall Street Journal to talk about the moves he's been making with SMS. Timbaland and Carmelo Anthony are now on board as investors. In addition, he also explained that Timbaland will be working on some product development. SMS also has licencing agreements with Lucasfilms for their special edition Star Wars headsets.

50 and his SMS partner, Brian Nohe announced they are on the verge of a partnership with a major tech company.

"We're working with a major technological company and soon to announce a very major new product," Nohe said. He also explained how he believes there is room in the headphones business for more players, as many believe high-end headphones is becoming a saturated market.
