Beef between Migos and another rap group might have resulted in the unintended death of a metro Atlanta man, local authorities believe. The victim, Paris Brown, was struck and killed by a stray bullet on June 11 at Quality Inn on Venture Drive in Gwinnett County after a gun battle erupted at the hotel. According to WSBTV, police believe the intended target was Kiara Cephus who is affiliated with the Migos. Police have charged Cory Marzette, a known affiliate of the group 2G, with crimes related to the shooting.

Surveillance footage shows two individuals walking down a corridor brandishing guns. The men go off camera for several seconds, at which time police believe the murder occurred, then return to view still firing. “[Brown] was just a supporter of the rap group Migos and essentially caught a stray bullet,” Cpl. Deon Washington said.

Cephus was questioned by police about the murder, but refused to be involved with the investigation. “We know he was there, however he would not cooperate with the police investigation,” Washington said. Authorities believe this is one of several incidents that have occurred between the rival crews. According to the report, a second suspect is still at large.
