Pharrell is apologizing for his choice of headgear on the recent Elle UK cover. After finding himself in hot water for donning a Native American headdress the singer/producer has issued a statement.

“I respect and honor every kind of race, background and culture. I am genuinely sorry,” said Pharrell.

The release of the photograph created a lot of controversy over the sacred head piece worn by Native American chiefs and warriors resulting in the Twitter hashtag “#NotHappy” in reference to smash hit.
