The Stones Throw documentary Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton was released on DVD and Blu-ray this week and a 30-minute outtake reel from the film is beginning to make its rounds on the web. Originally found on Rolling Stone, In Extra Special Loving for the People includes footage from founding DJ/producer Peanut Butter Wolf, Madlib, Gaslamp Killer, and an exclusive clip of an interview with Kanye West.

In the clip, ‘Ye waxes poetically about J Dilla saying, “It’s amazing: How could we lose Biggie, Pac, Dilla, Steve Jobs, Michael Jackson? It almost feels like the devil’s winning. And now it’ll go to the radio now that it’s wrong, motherfucker. Now play this. Play this five-minute song that completely fucks up your programming. Play this. Stones Throw is one of the more groundbreaking indie labels in music and were responsible for albums from J Dilla, Madlib and Madvillian. Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton features awesome footage from concerts, interviews with the label’s roster and those influenced by Stones Throw including Mike D of the Beastie Boys, ?uestlove, and Tyler, The Creator.
