The sizzurp trend plaguing hip-hop may finally be nearing its demise. According to TMZ, Actavis--the Promethazine Codeine producer that is frequently name dropped in rap songs--is pulling the plug on production and sales citing unlawful use as the reason.

“Given [recent media attention], Actavis has made the bold and unprecedented decision to cease all production and sales of its Promethazine Codeine product.”says a rep from Actavis. “This attention has glamorized the unlawful and dangerous use of the product, which is contrary to its approved indication.”

Upon hearing the news, Soulja Boy took to Instagram to post a photo of six bottles of Actavis with the caption “Soulja got the juice. They say the streets dry I say you gotta be kiddin me. I serve everybody.” Actavis is taking a massive step in the right direction to get the drug off the market. Having already claimed the lives of hip-hop figures like DJ Screw, Big Moe, Pimp C and led to a Lil Wayne seizure, lean has been hurting the hip-hop community for too long.-Peter Walsh
