Philly’s Most Wanted Member In Critical Condition After Hit & Run

Joel Witherspoon, best known for being one half of The Neptunes affiliated group Philly’s Most Wanted is in critical condition after a hit and run accident this past weekend.

Conroy Williams whom was driving a black Range Rover allegedly struck the 36-year-old former rapper early Saturday morning while Witherspoon stood in front of his home.

Neighbor Stacy Dennis told ABC Local News, "I came outside and a car was backing into my car and sped off and when I got outside, my neighbor was laying on the ground. He was just asking for help."

According to police, the Range Rover also hit several cars, including that of Witherspoon’s neighbor and friend James Williams, who was concerned more about the “Please Don’t Mind” rapper’s well being than his car.

"I'm just hoping and praying that my friend, my neighbor Joel, pulls through. That's what I'm concerned about more than my car right now because he don't deserve this. He's a good guy," said Williams.

Police say after the incident the suspect jumped into a car with a female, believed to be Witherspoon’s ex-girlfriend. Collingdale Police Chief Bob Adams says his officers have previously responded to domestic calls at Witherspoon’s home. He also added someone had even recently vandalized the former rapper’s Cadillac.

As a result of the accident, Witherspoon has two broken legs and head injures. He is in critical condition at Crozer Chester Medical Center.—Chris M. Garner
