Rich Homie Quan was by HipHopSince1987 stopped on the green carpet at the BET Hip-Hop Awards last weekend in his hometown of Atlanta, where he was asked about his "Type of Way" remix and the new projects he's been working on.

"I want to drop a new mixtape for the streets before the year is over before that debut album," he said when asked about new music. "I'm like 30 percent in with the album, and I still got another mixtape coming."

Quan grabbed Jeezy and Meek Mill for the remix (below) to his massive summer hit.

"Meek had Big Sean's support," he said of how the new track came together. "I wanted Meek to get on it; Meek's not a new artist, but he's still got that young energy, you feel me? So I had to put him on there and he showed me a lot of support. I wanted to still have an Atlanta feel with it, and me, I did a new verse because I wanted to bring out that remix feel to it."

Quan exploded onto the radar this year with his track, which Drake called the Song of the Summer and Meek Mill included on his summer playlist. The single, despite being an independent release, is being distributed by Def Jam, according to iTunes.
