Beloved '90s hip-hop duo Pete Rock & CL Smooth are hitting the road on a tour to commemorate the release of their debut LP, Mecca and The Soul Brother. The tour pops off October 15 in Washington, D.C. at Howard Theater and will hit up spots throughout North America including St. Louis, L.A., Toronto, New York and Boston. This will mark the first time the duo has toured together in North America in 15 years. “It means a lot because music is the foundation of the world,” said C.L. Smooth. “It gives you an opportunity to know what we contributed and how inspired we were as very young men to get the opportunity to make good music.”

Partner Pete Rock is also looking forward to the reunion. “People will finally get to hear good music and see a good show,” the producer added. “They get to come out, have a good time and enjoy the music they loved for years.”

In the early '90s, the Mount Vernon, NY pair were a force behind the jazz driven beats of Pete Rock and the philosophically-tinged rhymes of CL Smooth. But, their run was short lived. They split after their third group project The Main Ingredient, but not before releasing a decent amount of quality music including the enduring hip-hop classic, "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)."
