Kanye’s Repeat Offenses Led To Prosecution

On Friday, Kanye West was formally charged with misdemeanor battery stemming from a alleged run-in with a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport in July. Today, TMZ is reporting that the reason that Kanye West is being prosecuted for the alleged battery is due his previous history of attacking reports.

TMZ's sources inside Los Angeles law enforcement circles are alleging the city attorney is going after Kanye for the incident because he's attacked photographers in past, specifically citing a 2008 incident in which Kanye he grabbed a photog's camera and smashed it to the ground. The case was filed, but later dismissed after Kanye paid for the camera's repair.

Kanye West is set to be arraigned on the charges on October 10 and could possibly serve one-year in jail if convicted of all charges.
