21 Hilariously Terrible Mixtape Covers

I consider myself a connoisseur of bad mixtape cover art. I have been fascinated with the creative decisions that lead artists down the path to photoshopping their likeness amongst a pack of smoking jacket-wearing bears. The Pen & Pixel-helmed covers of No Limit Records in the 1990s were always a highlight of my frequent trips to the FYE at my mall in Cleveland. It’s an appreciation for the ridiculous that continues my love for the poor taste and lack of tact that mixtapes often feature.

In an effort to bring my appreciation to the XXL audience, I have compiled 21 covers from some of my favorite poorly-photoshopped mixtape art in the world. Enjoy and remember to always keep doin’ thangs!
