Although many went home with an award last night at the 2013 BET Awards, Kendrick Lamar and Drake were the top victors, each trotting home three awards. Upon accepting the awards, Kendrick delivered a touching speech while an absent Drake showed his appreciation via Twitter.

“If you keep love, God, respect, and hard work in your heart, you can do anything you want in life,” Kendrick told the audience when receiving the accolade. Drake later tweeted thanking both the organization and his fans, “Thank you to BET and to the fans for voting!” he tweeted. “I’m home finishing the album and spending time w/ family before we begin our journey Sept 17.”
