Jay-Z and Kanye West Settle “The Joy” Lawsuit

When Rappers Morph into Animals for Album Art

Jay-Z and Kanye West have settled a federal lawsuit over their song “Otis,” reports TMZ.

The Throne was sued last October by Syl Johnson for using an unauthorized sample of his song “Different Strokes.” Johnson claimed Yeezy attempted to get the song cleared for his solo album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but couldn’t get it done in time. Still, somehow the song then appeared on his collaborative set with Jay, Watch the Throne, prompting Johnson to file a lawsuit.

But in legal documents filed in Illinois federal court this week, it states the lawsuit was dismissed because the two sides reached a settlement, though no further details were made available.

This isn’t the first time Johnson sues an act over the unauthorized use of his music; he’s previously sued Michael Jackson, Jefferson Airplane and Cypress Hill, reports the entertainment site. -Gina Montana

It’s like they hire a bunch of community college english majors as reporters. Headline – article facts don’t match up and their is nothing in the article to even grab your attention. Write muthafugas write. I want some passion, some heart, go out there and find a piece and put some enthusiasm in that beth.
