Last summer, Lloyd Banks had an undeniable hit when his single “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley” dominated Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart, landing at No. 16. Rappers everywhere crafted their own remix to the Punch-line King’s ode to cars.
Hip-hop has always had a love for cars, and some models have been more popular than others. Popular car enthusiast Funkmaster Flex has spent part of his career covering the hip-hop car scene. Last year, he launched his MTV2 series Funk Flex Full Throttle, a show that introduces hot rappers to dope rides. In May, the King of Car Culture and MTV2 are back with the second season of the hit show, with a special twist: Flex will feature rappers on the show to talk classic cars, then surprise each guest with a Funkmaster Flex–customized ride of their own.
