During his recent run of interviews to promote the release of his book Decoded, Jay-Z did a podcast with Hot 97's own Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg for their Juan Epstein show, where he dished on the progress of his collaborative album with Kanye West, Watch the Throne, and the origins of some of Yeezy's most popular G.O.O.D. Friday tracks.

In the Q&A session Hov revealed that “Monster,” “So Appalled,” “Power (Remix)” and “The Joy” were all supposed to be on the album, but the first two ended up on Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy instead.

“We went away to Bathe, England, last week," Jay said, referring to him and Yeezy. "I was out there doing some promo and we did about seven records in three days. We gonna finish another three records, [then] probably look at it to see if we should take any records off and record new ones, just to make it better. But it’s coming out amazing.” [Listen here]

As of now, there’s no release date for Watch the Throne, but it is reportedly going to be drop on Def Jam Recordings sometime in early 2011. —Adam Fleischer
