Barely a month removed from his latest album, Canal Street Confidential, Currensy returns with more music from those sessions. The fast-paced, unhinged "From Above" pairs Spitta with his brother Mr. Marcelo. (The elder New Orleans rapper enjoyed a brief run on No Limit in the early 2000s; his younger brother opted to align himself with Cash Money, the city's other independent empire, before striking out on his own.) The cut is one of the strongest in his recent oeuvre, and sets Currensy up nicely for 2016.

Last year was a busy one for the pair: in addition to Canal Street, Currensy dropped the long-awaited third installment of his Pilot Talk Series, along with Even More Saturday Night Car Tunes and Cathedral. With OG Luv Dat OG 3, Marcelo ran up his total to six new mixtapes in a five-year span.
