Kevin Durant has not escaped the BasedGod curse. Before the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder series kick off their Western Conference Finals series tonight (May 16), Lil B went on Twitter to confirm that Durant is still cursed and the Thunder will not win as a result.

"Just got word from The BasedGod that the Thunder will not be beating the Warriors in the playoffs series," Lil B wrote. "Durant is still cursed."

The BasedGod curse all started in 2011 when Kevin Durant criticized Lil B's music.

"I tried to listen to Lil B and my mind wouldn't let me do it," Durant tweeted. "Can't believe this guy is relevant."

This prompted Lil B to put a curse on the NBA star stating that Durant would never win a title due to this slight against the rapper. In the years since, Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder's lack of success in the playoffs have helped the curse become real. Lil B has even put the curse on other players such as Houston Rockets guard James Harden.

Last year, Lil B finally offered an olive branch to Durant. The Bay Area rapper said he would lift the curse if they two played a game of 21."

"All he has to do is meet on the basketball court for a friendly game of 21," Lil B said. "I’m passionate about my game, my defense, if he doesn’t beat me 21-0 he should be embarrassed. He knows the curse is affecting him. Everyone knows. He needs to see me on the court."

If the Thunder fall to the Warriors in this series as most NBA experts and fans expect, it might be time for KD to swallow his pride and hoop with Lil B.
