Black Dynamite is back for it’s second season on Adult Swim. The season two premiere episode airs this Saturday (Oct. 18) at 10:30 p.m and keeps the same magic as the previous season. Black Dynamite—voiced by  Michael Jai White—finds himself in the middle of a Black History Month celebration in town (“it’s the first history month in black history”). During the celebration The Reverend unveils  a statute of Martin Luther King Jr. on the toilet—presumably moving his bowels— with “dream achieved” etched under the statue. Behind the statute is a “Whites Only” sign.  The speech by The Reverend is pretty hilarious, “So that black and whites cheeks all over the world can come together and doo-doo for peace justice and equality for all.”

After watch Roots and confirming that the movie is historically accurate through TV Guide, African Americans begin to enslave white people. The episode reimages what slavery would be like if the roles were reversed and the affects slavery has on modern day society.  It’s a pretty hilarious episode that also provides heavy social commentary. Black Dynamite looks to continues its no-hold-bar comedic approach with intelligent comedic depictions of social issues. The show doesn’t skip a beat.
