From Lil' Kim to Lupe Fiasco, plenty of rappers have remixed Desiigner's tune "Panda," and Massachusetts' Joyner Lucas for one is tired of the trend. On "Kill the Panda" which is in fact a "Panda" remix in and of itself, he voices his displeasure with so many emcees following one another and attempts to dead it all by causing physical harm not only to the instrumental but to a fictional panda as well.

"I’m tired of this fucking Panda song, I don’t stand alone / I just wanna wrap my fucking hands across / Stab the head and break the fucking Panda’s jaw," he raps on the song's hook, later calling his own lyrical attack animal abuse and saying. "How many rappers gonna try to play me? Tired of hearing niggas on the same beat."

Elsewhere, he rhymes, "Ya’ll done got me mad / I’m gonna put the Panda in a body bag," but makes an effort to point out that he has no ill will towards Desiigner himself, saying, "I done killed the Panda, where Designer at? / But this is not a diss, don’t call it that."

The influx of "Panda" remix harkens back to a not so distant time in which rappers jumped in on whatever track was currently blazing at the time, like Lil Wayne's "A Mill" or Bobby Shmurda's "Hot N*gga." In a creative medium where original ideas and sounds can at times be hard to come by, using a single popular beat provides an even measuring stick for all to compare against. What Joyner claims though, is that the repetition of it all has gone too far, at least in the case of "Panda." Listen to his own take on the track up above.
