Jazz Cartier got inspired by the iconic Phantom of the Opera and decided to create his own version of the musical. The result is a trap-infused track called "Opera" produced by Lantz. It's an interesting cut as Jazz Cartier switches between autotuned vocals and a traditional delivery. The song was premiered by Billboard as Jazz explained to them that inspiration was simple.

"Phantom of the Opera is actually playing in Toronto right now so every day when I go into the studio, I drive by and see this big ass billboard," Jazz Cartier told Billboard.

Jazz Cartier also went into some detail about his creative process and how he tries to stand out in crowded rap landscape.

"It’s like channeling the vulnerability that I think a lot of rappers are on the fence about exposing," Jazz Cartier said. "You’re putting yourself on this platform for the Internet to say whatever they want about you but you have to just plain not think about that and that was my mindset. I just didn’t think about what anyone thought. I just made what I wanted to make."

With the help of Red Bull Sound Select, Jazz Cartier is currently out in Los Angeles working with super producer Mike WiLL Made-It.  Jazz is hoping something he crafts with the producer will land on Mike WiLL's upcoming Ransom 2 project. According to Jazz, Ransom 2 is sounding great.

"From what I’ve heard, it’s pretty fucking monstrous," Cartier said. "He has a fucking heater on hands."
