Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Diddy, Among Acts Lending Helping Hand to Haiti

Since the tragic earthquake that struck Haiti last Tuesday (January 12), it seems as if hip-hop as a whole has come together to support the ailing country.

Along with all of Wyclef Jean’s work with his Yele Haiti Foundation,  Jay-Z is scheduled to be one of the headliners for MTV’s “Hope 4 Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief” telethon, airing this Friday (Jan. 22).

According to Swizz Beatz's Twitter account, Jigga is also working on a song with the superproducer and Bono for the island as well. On Saturday (Jan. 16) Swizz told his Twitter followers: “Me, Bono, Hova have something to say about Haiti stay tuned I told you I was working on something amazing for Haiti. They need us!”

In addition, Lupe Fiasco recently teamed up with Music for Relief to record a song for their compilation of unreleased music to benefit the Caribbean nation. All profits from it’s sales will be given to earthquake victims. (For more information visit musicforrelief.org)

Rick Ross also used his philanthropic muscle to host a blood drive in southern Florida this past Monday while Bun B performed a live show in Houston. Meanwhile Snoop Dogg and Diddy spent time working the phone banks at CNN for their Haiti Relief telethon.
