Going to a concert or festival in California is such a great experience. It's that sunny weather, I tell ya. It literally makes you forget every problem you have- and the fact that you're most likely sweating your balls off under that hot ass sun- and just get lost in the moment.

Seeing as how we're on the event kick here at the Scratch blog, figured I'd let you all know that there is what appears to be a dope festival happening in Los Angeles this weekend. I wish they'd have been cool enough to send poor lil ole me a ticket :-( Fuck.

The "We The People" Festival is an event that features socially conscious artists from a variety of different genres. From their site,

"... the We the People festival aspires to continue to promote and suggest a much needed platform that calls for a voice for the youth of our nation and those artists they credit with acknowledging their daily struggles within the environments that surround them, socially, culturally and politically."

Seems like a good cause. The line-up for this event is pretty crazy (eat your heart out Rock the Bells!). Rza, Dilated Peoples, EPMD, Sean Price, DJ Premier, Murs, Ill Bill, Janell Monae, Z-Trip, Barrington Levy, and a shitload of rock guys that I'm sure only the six hardcore music heads that visit XXLmag.com would be interested in (so I'll just refrain from mentioning them). It'll also feature guest speaker Cynthia Mckinney, the Green Party Presidential Nominee, among others.

The We The People festival takes place this Saturday, September 27th, at the Los Angeles State Historic Park. It runs from 2pm to midnight. General Admission is 45 dollars.
