G-Eazy paid a visit to BBC's 1Xtra Live Lounge on Tuesday (March 15) and performed a cover of Kanye West's 2005 single "Heard 'Em Say" off his album Late Registration. The track, which originally featured Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, has singer Anne Marie covering hook duties.

The cover is more or less a facsimile of the original, with Eazy supplying a few obvious censors and replacing the line "From the Chi, like Tim it's a harder way" with "From the Bay, like 40 and Dre." In a March 2015 interview with 106 KMEL, G-Eazy recalled meeting Kanye backstage at the Yeezus tour, saying, "I was tripping. We have the same management and he was hip to my stuff, but when I actually met him in person when he was on the Yeezus tour, they brought me back stage to meet him," he said. "And he looked up at me and said “whats up?” and I was hella nervous."

He later recalled the encounter to Hit The Floor Magazine, saying, "When I met Kanye I was too nervous to speak. He asked me what I had planned for the year, and I was so nervous I started babbling and talking a million miles a second and he slowly lost interest and walked away." The rapper's "Let's Get Lost" featuring Devon Baldwin off his 2014 album These Things Happen additionally samples Kanye's "Stronger."

Suffice it to say, G-Eazy is a big Kanye fan, evidenced by the cover of "Heard 'Em Say" below.
